Case of the Missing Spoon
I've been working in an office setting for the last 7 years. I've worked in 3 different offices and sat at 4 different desks in those 7 years and I've ALWAY had a "drawer." Anyone who works in an office setting knows what "drawer" I'm talking about. Similar to having a locker in high school. Here's my drawer...
I keep a bunch of random and personal things in this drawer. You won't find anything work related in here. I have extra chopsticks, napkins, cups, face cloths, shoyu packets, a brush, hairspray, body spray, tea bags, other feminine products and so on. Not pictured is a Campbell's Soup cup and a fork. This fork came in a set with other cutlery and in the last 7 years I've had this soup cup, fork, and spoon. Well as of last Friday my spoon is missing!!
I'm a little weird about my things...it's not that I don't like to share, but this is my spoon. It goes in my food and drinks and in my mouth. So unless we're on that level where I'd take a sip from your drink, I don't want my spoon in your mouth. We have a small "kitchenette" in our office. There's just a sink, a micorwave, a refridgerator and a bunch of random cooking stuff. I normally wash my stuff and dry it right away with papertowels and tuck them safely away in my "drawer" but I've been feeling bad about adding to the worlds wasteful practices and have been trying to air dry my dishes in the dish rack.
Well last Friday, I washed my cup and my spoon and left it to dry. I forgot to get them back before I left for the weekend and when I came in Monday I found my cup, but my spoon was missing. Okay, maybe someone grabbed it on accident to have their morning coffee or breakfast. So Monday I waited....Tuesday morning I checked again...no spoon! So being a tad bit neurotic, I took a picture of the matching fork...
And sent an email to everyone in our office if they'd seen the spoon. And here we are...nearly 24 hours after the email with picture and STILL NO SPOON! I don't think anyone stole my spoon, but I think it was accidentally used and now is sitting in someone else's "drawer." I do have a slight attachment to this spoon. It's been with me for the last 7 years...the cold times and the hot times, solid foods and liquids. I miss my spoon. If you've seen my spoon please return it, no questions asked.
